Variegated Liriope is an ornamental grass with leaves that have bold contrasting stripes of green and creamy yellow. In summer this Liriope will develop lilac blooms which stands out boldly against the foliage, then as the flowers fade dark berries will replace them on the bloom stalks in fall. It is considered evergreen in warmer climates, but will turn brown in cooler areas. In both warm and cooler climates it is recommended to mow this grass down in early spring to clear out any dead foliage before new leaves begin to develop.
